Tdi fuel filter change without vcds3/28/2024 Last edited by meerschm May 3rd, at Hi brand new TDI owner here, brand new as in I've never owned a diesel before. I still think the filter is between the tank and the injectors. Last edited by hankster88 May 2nd, at Reason: layout. Caution Always coat the new seal with some diesel fuel to prevent any malfunctions. I've done a few on mk6's doing it both ways vcds and just replacing it I would assume it's no different on the mk7 which I plan to just swap the filter and be done. I'm coming up on 30, as well,by July roughly. Does it mean that the procedure to remove air has changed with the MK7? The hose that returns to the fuel tank wouldn't exist anymore? One hose seems to comes from the back of the engine and the two others seems to go directly to the engine. I've read that for the MK6, you needed VDCS to prime the fuel in the filter canister after the filter change to remove all the air, but that many people just filled the canister with fresh diesel and started the engine directly instead of using a VDCS. Has anyone done its own fuel filter change? I should be at 30,KM soon and it's "recommended" to replace it at this point.
